Erik S. Ornstein, O.D.
Doctor Erik S. Ornstein has been practicing optometry since 2000. He recently opened his own private practice in Surprise July 2006. The office provides full scope optometric care ranging from routine vision exams, to contact lens fitting, and treatment of eye disease. Some of the diseases he treats and/or monitors are, but not limited to: macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye syndrome, and cataracts. Although he is not a surgeon, he has worked his entire career with surgeons, and is able to medically manage any type of eye condition, other then surgical issues. He has a host of specialists that he works and co-manages patients with to ensure everybody gets the best care possible.
Dr. Ornstein received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1993, and then went on to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2000. The education that he received there was second to none. The faculty is comprised of some of the top optometrists as well as ophthalmologists in the country. Each doctor had there own area of expertise, and afforded great insights into the intricacies of the art and science of eyecare.
His clinical experience consists of two years at an HMO in Las Vegas, a short stint at a retail setting upon arriving in the Valley, three years at a private practice in Sun City, and one year at an ophthalmology practice in Phoenix. Due to his varied background in patient care, he has treated and has had lots of experience with a wide range of eye conditions. Dr. Ornstein always puts the care of his patients first, and that is why his practice will always flourish.
